An Irish Airman Foresees His Death is a setting of the poem of the same name by WB Yeats which describes the thoughts of an Irish WWI pilot. This piece sets the contrasting lines of the poem by pitting chords of differing qualities but the same root against each other to clash and blur "good" and "bad".
premiered by the East Carolina University Chamber Singers, Apr 2011 under the direction of Al Sturgis
